[Things sure are a lot mistier around here than she remembers... There are also a lot more bats and rats around, these certainly weren't here before. Then again, given the time of year, Fuuko is just happy that the moon isn't crashing into anything.
Having been returned from her kidnapping Fuuko first heads to the clinic to check on things there. At first she's surprised when she looks around and can't find herself, her body. The surprise gives way to happiness soon enough though, leading to Fuuko running as fast as her legs can carry her back home.
She's practically runs into the front door in her excitement and quickly heads to Nagisa's room. This is it, she can say hello to Nagisa not as the girl she met in Luceti, but as the best friend she had helping her through all the rough times back home. The only problem is Nagisa isn't here, or anywhere. Her room is completely bare save for a few gifts left behind on the bed, including letters addressed to her and Kotomi.
"It's been a pleasure getting to know you here in Luceti, Fuu-chan. I'm really, really happy that we ended up rooming together, because you ended up becoming one of my best friends here, as well as anywhere else! I'm sad that I won't be able to spend more time with you, but I'm sure we'll be able to see each other again in Hikarizaka. We do go to the same school, after all! Even if I may not remember you there, though, I'm positive that we'll become friends again."
... No, that won't happen. Back home was different. It was here in the village that Fuuko had the chance to do everything with Nagisa. That just isn't possible back home, no matter how much she might want it to be.
Fuuko ends up holding the letter tightly in her hands while she sits on Nagisa's bed, amongst all the different dangos and presents she left behind. She's not crying, it's hard not to, but she refuses to cry. Right now she only wants to be alone.]
[Later, when Fuuko feels as though she's up to it, she finds her journal and opens it up to speak.]
Nagisa Furukawa has gone back to Hikarizaka. [...] She left lots of wonderful things for her friends, so please come and collect them. Fuuko thinks that Nagisa-san would be very happy if all of the dangos she left went to good homes.
[And that's it. She leaves the journal open in case anyone wants to ask about Nagisa. Anyone that might decide to wait a moment before replying may be able to hear Fuuko whispering Nagisa's name to herself and sighing.]

action
For a few moments, Ven stares right back at her, rubbing a hand against his neck. Then, taking a deep breath, he cracks a faint smile.]
Uh. Don't worry about me, Fuuko!
action
Fuuko is sorry, but in a situation like this Fuuko can't help but worry. This isn't like telling someone they're not weird and saying not to worry, you're hurt!
[She steps back so Ven can come inside.]
Fuuko knows some first aid, so maybe Fuuko can help.
action
[Still, he'll slip inside, rubbing at his cheek. He got a particularly nasty wound from an infected soldier there, but at least it's mostly healed. Ish.]
I'd try and heal it up some more with my magic, but, well...
[Sigh.]
I'm still kinda swamped from all the fighting.
[But he did have someone at least look at and sanitize the wounds. That's better than nothing, right?
Still, if Fuuko really wants to help, who's he to say no?]
action
[While she's trying to think of something that she can put on the bruises or give to Ven to maybe help heal them faster she hears him mention fighting.]
... What happened while Fuuko was gone?
action
Got drafted again. Things got really outta hand, though, and I had to come back.
[He looks down, shoulders sagging.]
Some of 'em are still out there right now.
action
[She's about ready to go on about how awful it is that people have been dragged off to fight again, but seeing Ven look visibly down about it all makes her stop.]
... Fuuko is sorry, Ven-san. [...] Everyone else will come back safe, Fuuko is sure that everything will be okay.
[It might be depressing, but it's helping to keep her mind off of Nagisa just a little.]
action
[...]
I mean, I know you're right, it's just--
[Gulp.]
There was this disease spreading out there, Fuuko. Once it hit, people started losing themselves. They... they started to act like zombies.
[It's ironic, given the time of year.]
action
[Eep. Zombies. At least Nagisa was able to go home before she heard about anything like this happening.]
Fuuko doesn't know what to say when it comes to zombies, it's not something Fuuko has had to deal with before.
action
No, no! I'm okay. I mean, I'm still a bit sore, but there's no way I'm gonna start eating brains or anything.
[There. Hopefully that'll... kinda lighten the mood?]
action
[Eat Kotomi's, she smart, they probably taste good! ... Okay no, just don't eat any of her friend's brains. Or any brains. Ever.]
In the end though, worrying about you picking up a taste for brains isn't helping you with your bruises. Fuuko will think of something so please stay here!
[Aaand she's already running off towards the kitchen.]
action
[Wow, way to leave him speechless, Fuuko. Blinking, Ven stares in the kitchen's direction with his mouth slightly agape.
Okay, so maybe joking about brains wasn't such a good idea.]
action
When she returns she holds the cloth wrapped ice in her hand so Ven can see it.]
Fuuko thinks this will help. While Fuuko doesn't know exactly what the ice will do, Fuuko knows it should help the bruise a little! Kotomi-chan would be able to explain it better.
action
Thanks, Fuuko. And it's okay! I think just having something cool will help at least a little bit.
But that's not really what matters, anyway-- I came all this way to cheer you up, so it wouldn't be fair for me to steal all the attention.
action
It isn't fair on you either Ven-san, coming over to see Fuuko when you have come back from a draft only recently. Thank you, Fuuko appreciates the effort you put into getting these cookies. Fuuko is very happy you came over now! [...] Not that Fuuko is happy just because you brought cookies, Fuuko is happy that you're here in the first place!
action
[He grins.]
The cookies are just a little something extra.
action
That's something that Fuuko would expect Ven-san to say, it's very Ven-ish.
[Fuuko takes one of the cookies and nibbles off one of the corners.]
They're very good. When they're shaped like this Fuuko wouldn't expect them to taste like anything less than very good. [Nod.] You can have some too Ven-san.
action
[He should've seen that coming a mile away. But, heh, he'll grab a cookie as well.]
But I'm glad you like 'em! And, heck, if you want, you can keep this batch. You know, to snack on from time to time. That way, even if I'm not around, you've got something to think about me!
['cause who knows when the next kidnapping or draft or whatever will roll around?
...yeah, he probably hasn't picked up on any implications of what he said. Derp.]
action
[...]
But, you know, when Ven-san says something like that, Fuuko feels very happy inside.
action
[...aaand, train of thought successfully derailed.
Um. Well, that's always a good thing! Kinda an abrupt thing to say, but. Yes. Good. Probably?
Yeah.]
Er. Well, I'm glad it makes you happy, Fuuko! That's what I'm here for, right?
action
Please forget what Fuuko just said about feeling happy, Ven-san always makes Fuuko feel happy so Fuuko shouldn't have said it out loud like that!
[Quick, better keep backpedaling.]
Tell Fuuko more about Wayfinders while you're still forgetting!
action
[Guh.]
Why would I wanna forget it? It's not... a bad thing.
[Um. Wayfinders, Wayfinders... He'll just reach into his pocket, pull out his green, star-shaped charm.]
But one of these! They're good luck charms, and they're based on those star-shaped fruit that showed up on the beach back during... well, you know, and--
[Is his talking getting a little faster? Probably. Those fruit, and that shift, and...]
But Aqua said that these charms mean you'll always find a way back to your friends, so it'd make sense... right?
[Okay, there. Hopefully that is a suitable explanation! He's not even sure if he's explained them before. Either way. It's... relevant?]
action
[Why is he talking faster?! Okay, calm down, this is silly. Be mature.]
Fuuko remembers-- Fuuko hopes Wayfinders work differently to the sweet fruit Fuuko tasted that day! [SLOW DOWN BE MATURE] Fuuko thinks that being able to find your friends again with something like this definitely makes sense, were it any other shape then Fuuko would be very suspicious of how it works.
action
[Okay, he's slowing down now. Ish.]
But you're right! You could think of 'em like starfish charms if you wanted to.
action
[She smiles as she lifts up the star-shaped dango she's had with her all this time.]
Fuuko thinks this little guy is like your Wayfinder.
action
Well, he's definitely got the shape down. Did one of your friends make it?
