[Video]
[The bright sun, blue sky, even the odd cloud dotted here and there. Whoever is holding the journal is doing a pretty good job of capturing the good weather right now.]

After all the rain and wind last week it's this sort of sunshine that really makes Fuuko think of summer.

[The journal soon pulls back to show that the sky is being recorded through a massive hole in the roof of one of house 26's upstairs bedrooms.]

However Fuuko really does not want to enjoy summer whilst still being inside like this! Most of the water has dried away or has been mopped up but this thing is still here! Even if Fuuko was low on money and couldn't afford AC this would be a very extreme solution. And even then money isn't a problem so why is this hole still here?!

[Normally these things see to themselves, but nope. Still a hole. The bedroom is still a complete wreck too, with debris and bits of glass and the door frame scattered about all over.]

If anyone knows anything about fixing things like this then Fuuko would appreciate a little of your time. Fuuko will even prepare something to give to your for your trouble, something very delicious!

[Oh, and quickly adding in at the end--]

Also, Fuuko hopes everyone who went into space returned home safely! If you all want something delicious too then please come to house 26, there's going to be more than enough for anyone who wants some. Fuuko will make sure of that!

[Action]

[The 'something very delicious' Fuuko was referring to is starfish shaped bread. Giant loaves of it. There's only so much of the stuff she can make before she needs more ingredients though so she's out around the village to pick up some more.

... But she couldn't just leave all the bread she had recently baked alone in the house. Even if Kotomi and Nagisa are there who knows what could come through that hole in the roof! As such, Fuuko is carrying a bag of freshly baked starfish bread around with her. Don't you just love the smell of bread that's just come out of the oven? It's still a little warm too!]

Of course not, if Fuuko had the choice then nothing would be covered with dust and dirt like this!

[Sadly she didn't have the choice, the roof did, and the roof decided it wanted to collapse and fill the room with debris. Rude roof.]

Fuuko will clean up. Grune-san can help too!

[Unlike Walter, Grune doesn't mind getting drafted in the slightest.]

All right! I'll do my best!

[Walter sighs at Grune's enthusiasm, but eventually nods at Fuuko.]

All right. I'll be back later with tools and materials. Have this place cleaned up by then.

[He gives the hole in the roof another long look before heading towards the door.]

Right! You can count on Fuuko and Grune-san!

[They'll probably need to pull the bed out to properly clean, plus there's all these bricks and splintered supports lying around. Best get to work.

~~Want to handwave the cleaning up until Walter comes back?~~]

[~~Sounds like a plan!~~

And so the pair worked hard cleaning up Fuuko's room. Or rather, Grune was continually distracted and Fuuko probably wasted a lot of time trying to get her back on track. One or the other.]

[Meanwhile, Walter's off to the item store to see what he can find for repairing that roof. A few wooden boards wide enough to cover the hole, a blanket as temporary insulation, some metal plates to support that sagging beam...

He's able to carry all of the materials and his tools with the aid of his teriques, so he doesn't need to make multiple trips before coming back to Fuuko's house.]

[In the end there wasn't much cleaning done, but hey, the room looks significantly better from how it was before Walter left.

When Walter comes back a dust covered Fuuko will be there to welcome him.]

Welcome back Walter-san, did you get everything you needed?

[And the heck is that thing you're using to carry stuff with?]

[Grune is well used to his teriques, albeit under rather more unfortunate circumstances, so she only says:] My, that's lots to carry. I can hold something for you, Walter.

[Given she might put whatever she's given down and forget about it, Walter might want to keep everything to himself.]

[Walter immediately snaps a hand up to stop Grune from approaching, shaking his head once.] Don't bother. I don't need help.

[He uses his other hand to direct the black transparent sphere down to the floor, where it disappears to deposit the blanket and other items.]

I should have everything. Are you finished with your room for now?

[Fuuko blinks at that sudden reaction to an offer for help. Sure it seems Walter is perfectly capable with is teriques, but still.] Grune-san was only offering to see if she could help you out. Be more grateful next time!

[She nods at the question and turns back to look around the room just to make sure everything is okay.]

Yes, this should be okay for now. Thank you very much for your help, Walter-san.

[Sadly, Grune is used to this kind of reaction from Walter, and so she barely blinks.]

Yes, thank you! It's such a kind thing for you to do.

[Walter makes a face at the words of gratitude, and he seems ready to say something rude at Fuuko's exclamation -- but he just pinches his nose and mutters under his breath.] If you're finished in here, you might want to get out while I'm working.

Right! Please work hard and not leave the job half finished like some sort of cowboy builder.

[Out she goooes. Come on Grune, leave the rude guy to fix the roof.]

[Grune will just toddle along after Fuuko out the door.]

Don't worry. Walter always does a good job!

[...Cowboy builder... Walter scowls at thought, but distracts himself by fishing through his supplies to get started. First he'd have to reinforce that beam, then stuff the hole with insulation.

Soon enough, there's the sound of hammering resounding from Fuuka's room.]

[Even if they're now outside the bedroom that doesn't mean Fuuko can't at least poke her head around the door frame and watch all sneaky like.]

Fuuko hopes you're right Grune-san. Though if he messes up and hurts himself then Fuuko knows there's a first aid kit downstairs.

And I can look after him with Nala's eres. But I'm sure he'll be just fine!

[So much faith, Grune.]

[No faith, you girls. No faith at all. It's a good thing he can't hear any of this.

He at least looks intensely concentrated on his task, carrying out the repair work efficiently and with practiced skill.]

[Practiced skill that will be mercilessly picked apart by the girl with little to no knowledge of DIY at all.]

Fuuko remembers being told something about eres before now. Can you use them to undo anything Walter-san might mess up on? Fuuko isn't sure if what he's doing is right or if it just looks as though it's right.

[Sorry, Fuuko. Grune can heal people and she's learning to heal plants, but healing roof repairs is a bit beyond her right now.]

Hmm.... I think it looks very good. Don't you?

[Walter pushes up on the beam a little more, hammering the metal reinforcement into place for another moment. ...When that doesn't seem to work, he drops the hammer to one side and concentrates.

Then he punches the steel brace with a glowing fist.]

[Well it looks fine right now. He's using a hammer and nothing seems to be-- FFFFWHAT?! NO no no no no that's not how DIY should work!!

Fuuko jumps and looks at Grune with a worried expression, then back at Walter so she can catch him in case he decides to punch her home again. No Grune, some guy is punching stuff instead of using tools. To some it might look cool or 'good' but Fuuko is very unsure.]

[Grune looks back with her typical unconcerned expression. She sees nothing at all wrong with Walter punching Fuuko's house--after all, he's a very good iron eren!]

[Don't worry too much about your house, Fuuko; Walter's done this stuff before! He punches the brace again before letting his hands drop, seeing how the new reinforcement supports the beam. Once he's satisfied, he starts adding insulation to the hole.]

[SCREAM HE DID IT AGAIN! ... And yet neither Grune or Walter seem all that bothered by this. She still looks as worried as she did before, but at least she didn't jump this time.]

Do you really have to punch it like that? Is this perhaps how construction work happens on the Legacy Grune-san told Fuuko about and Fuuko never knew?
