[It had taken her some time, a little heavy lifting and an awful lot of reading up on taking care of fish and sea life in the library, but it's finished. Room twelve in community building three now has a fully functioning fish tank! There's a hanging filter happily bubbling away into the water of the pretty bare looking tank. Fuuko had wanted to go down to the beach and find a few shells and what not but it's really cold, so for now the tank only has some gravel along the bottom and a rock or two in it.

As the journal comes into focus it's possible to notice something in the tank past the gravel and rocks. In fact if you can't notice it you must need your eyesight checked as Fuuko currently has the journal pushed right up against the glass of the tank.

The most adorable of adorable starfish is inside, laying on top of one of the rocks. Yes, a real live starfish. Fuuko couldn't believe it either. A real live starfish! It needs repeating, okay, it's a real a starfish. REAL. Many a trance came and went when she first unwrapped the jar containing the little guy.

Having kept the journal on for a minute or so in silence whilst she shows off her new pet, Fuuko speaks up.]

Fuuko cannot thank whoever gave Fuuko such a gift this Christmas time enough! Had Fuuko been able to find a tank and supplies sooner then rest assured, Fuuko would have thanked whoever-you-are long ago!

[Turning the journal towards her face which has a giant smile plastered all over it, because hey, guess what guys, it's a real starfish. And it's her pet! Aaah!]

Fuuko has even decided to keep the jar that-- Oh, Fuuko still needs to think of a name... But Fuuko is keeping the jar he came in as a memento of this wonderful present even in his nameless state! [Giving the journal a wave she starts closing the journal-- But wait, ooone more thing.] Fuuko almost forgot to mention the Starfish Festival seeing as all Fuuko can think of right now is this cute little guy. It'll probably be in April sometime, though there's no definite date yet. Just letting you all know!

Someone dimwitted and slow enough not to realise that they are being used as a scapegoat, but not someone Fuuko knows well enough to feel bad about making them a scapegoat in the first place! ...If only Fuuko knew some more weird guys for just this occasion!

It's a shame, but a plan like that shouldn't be something Fuuko should consider.

Could it be possible that in this time you yourself have though up some sort of plan Fuuko could use to avoid any weird guys staling Fuuko's cake, Kouki-san?

Possibly someone who doesn't enjoy sweet things, but most people here do. Fuuko has baked so many cakes since coming here but back home Fuuko only made a few things. It's strange how things change like that.

[People need to stop having birthdays so she can stop making cakes for them. Gosh.]

Strange...do you have more time to bake cakes here compared to back home?

Back home Fuuko would carve lots and lots of starfish, but here Fuuko carves much less. Fuuko also works at the tea shop now, and attends school, and now Fuuko has a starfish to take care of as well!

...Does carving less starfish really free up so much of Fuuko's time?! How horrible! [Must drop everything, carve more stars.]

It must be horrible! Less starfish to show the world. [Just. Smiling at this. What is this conversation I don't even]

That's precisely the problem! Fuuko should set some more time aside for carving starfish. Only one of Fuuko's drawers is full of starfish!

[Only one whole drawer!! Clearly she needs an entire chest of drawers full of starfish. And a wardrobe too.]

The weekend's usually good for hobbies. as well as the evening if you're not busy. Do you have enough material for that many starfish?

Fuuko should make better use of the time in the evening then.

There are always plenty of wooden blocks of different shapes at the item shop, and there are replacement craft knives there too. Fuuko has never run out of supplies here!

It would be a bad thing if we're out of supplies.

It would! Fuuko thinks you truly understand the starfish Kouki-san, being able to make an assessment like that so quickly after Fuuko mentions supplies!

Well, if we're out of supplies, we would be in big trouble without them. With or without starfish!

Whilst that's true too it would be especially horrible if we were out of supplies for things in general and the starfish!

Then again, someone told Fuuko to try and make a starfish out of metal before... Smoker-san was his name.

A metal starfish? That might be rather neat to see. Don't you need equipments to bend the metal?

...Do you think so?! Fuuko doesn't have a clue about metalwork, though it's probably much more difficult to make a metal starfish on the go unlike a wooden starfish!

I think so? They're metal, so you must need things to bend them around!

Wouldn't you also need a blowtorch or something to heat the metal up so you can bend it in the first place? It seems very complex.

It doesn't look like it...but maybe it is? Heating the metal up and then bending it with tools into the right shape.
