[It had taken her some time, a little heavy lifting and an awful lot of reading up on taking care of fish and sea life in the library, but it's finished. Room twelve in community building three now has a fully functioning fish tank! There's a hanging filter happily bubbling away into the water of the pretty bare looking tank. Fuuko had wanted to go down to the beach and find a few shells and what not but it's really cold, so for now the tank only has some gravel along the bottom and a rock or two in it.

As the journal comes into focus it's possible to notice something in the tank past the gravel and rocks. In fact if you can't notice it you must need your eyesight checked as Fuuko currently has the journal pushed right up against the glass of the tank.

The most adorable of adorable starfish is inside, laying on top of one of the rocks. Yes, a real live starfish. Fuuko couldn't believe it either. A real live starfish! It needs repeating, okay, it's a real a starfish. REAL. Many a trance came and went when she first unwrapped the jar containing the little guy.

Having kept the journal on for a minute or so in silence whilst she shows off her new pet, Fuuko speaks up.]

Fuuko cannot thank whoever gave Fuuko such a gift this Christmas time enough! Had Fuuko been able to find a tank and supplies sooner then rest assured, Fuuko would have thanked whoever-you-are long ago!

[Turning the journal towards her face which has a giant smile plastered all over it, because hey, guess what guys, it's a real starfish. And it's her pet! Aaah!]

Fuuko has even decided to keep the jar that-- Oh, Fuuko still needs to think of a name... But Fuuko is keeping the jar he came in as a memento of this wonderful present even in his nameless state! [Giving the journal a wave she starts closing the journal-- But wait, ooone more thing.] Fuuko almost forgot to mention the Starfish Festival seeing as all Fuuko can think of right now is this cute little guy. It'll probably be in April sometime, though there's no definite date yet. Just letting you all know!

Whilst Fuuko is sure the starfish could manage wrapping a present they are by no means tricky, or even devilishly tricky! The starfish are amongst the most kind and adorable things out there!

Dunno about that; I saw one wrestle a fairy, once. Nearly killed her.

A starfish and a fairy. Wrestling. [...] Wrestling is not the sport Fuuko would have picked for the starfish, but if that's what the starfish want to do then Fuuko can only support them!

Why was the starfish wrestling the fairy in the first place? [Said fairy must have ticked the starfish off or something because no way are the starfish at fault here.]

That, girl, would be one of the mysteries of the universe. All I know is I got water in my boots trying to drag that daft fairy out. Perhaps there were insulting words spoken on both sides, eh? Maybe we should not seek to lay blame.

Fuuko is not trying to blame the starfish or this fairy for what happened! ...But if the fairy went into the water then the fairy must have bothered the starfish somehow in order for them to act like that. Aren't fairies meant to flying around, or was she some sort of underwater fairy?!

An ice fairy! And....that's very possible, lass. Cirno bothered lots of people in her time here, what with the icy blasts of wind and all. She did make a lovely skating pond, however.

So you knew the fairy-- Cirno-san personally? Then you should have made sure she didn't go into the water and upset the starfish in the first place! [...] So an ice fairy is like a normal fairy, but with ice?

Do I look like a fairy-keeper, lass? DO I?! NO. Pirate. Pirates don't keep fairies from doing anything, even not-normal ones with ice.

This is the first time Fuuko has seen a fairy-keeper, so this is all Fuuko has to go off of! You could be a unique pirate who keeps a fairy for all Fuuko knows. Now answer Fuuko's question about the ice fairy being a fairy with ice and the starfish fairy being a fairy with starfish!

I'm....what starfish fairy? [Oh God, that was confusing.] How on earth can you endure the slimy little blighters?

Well if there's an ice fairy then it wouldn't be too far-fetched to say there's a starfish fairy! [LOGIC.] And the starfish aren't all slimy. Some are moist, or even quite dry to the touch. They're all very charming and adorable so Fuuko doesn't have to endure them at all! It's a very good feeling, knowing you get along with the starfish.

Aye. I'm feeling...something. A stirring. Some sort of stirring in regards to starfish.

Cut their legs off? They grow back!

How horrible!! Whilst that's true, please don't go cutting off the legs of the starfish! Fuuko had assumed fairy-keeping pirates had some sort of respect for sea life, but was Fuuko mistaken?!

[He is ignoring that request because something funny has just struck him:]

Oi! Can you imagine one with a wooden leg!? Ha! Ha ha hahaha!

[Imagine it? Just a second...]

Waah!? The poor little starfish!! What happened to you? That mean fairy-keeping pirate cut one of your legs off didn't he?! This is horrible, very horrible, it'll grow back so don't worry!!

But I'd never cut one off intentional-like, lass. I'm not a cruel sort of pirate in that way. Mostly.

O-Oh, phew! Fuuko's heart was beating a mile a minute there, almost as if it were going to jump out of Fuuko's throat.

[Panting a little as she calms herself down.] Even if it's never your intention to cut off a starfish's legs, please think of another method! It's very cruel to do that to a starfish, and anyone else for that matter!!

I know a man with a most astonishing wooden leg. He can drink whiskey or rum or anything you like out of it!

But you mentioned a starfish festival. I imagine it would be held on the beach?

How very strange... Fuuko has never heard much of wooden legs or what people do with them past walking on them.

Whilst it is a festival for the starfish it will actually be held in the plaza! Fuuko had originally thought of holding it there, but then the starfish might be disturbed if they're trying to go to sleep or spend time with their families. It's important to be considerate of the starfish!

Erm...........are you certain you're not confusing starfish with people? They don't have families. I'm not even certain they've got brains, poor little squashers.

Of course the starfish have families. If dangos are allowed to live in the big dango family then what's stopping the starfish from living in a big happy family too? Even if they didn't it would be better to play it safe and not disturb them anyway.

..............Whatsa danglo?

Not a danglo, a dango! They're dumplings made of rice flower and they all live together in the big dango family. They're about as equally cute as the starfish are.
