[It had taken her some time, a little heavy lifting and an awful lot of reading up on taking care of fish and sea life in the library, but it's finished. Room twelve in community building three now has a fully functioning fish tank! There's a hanging filter happily bubbling away into the water of the pretty bare looking tank. Fuuko had wanted to go down to the beach and find a few shells and what not but it's really cold, so for now the tank only has some gravel along the bottom and a rock or two in it.

As the journal comes into focus it's possible to notice something in the tank past the gravel and rocks. In fact if you can't notice it you must need your eyesight checked as Fuuko currently has the journal pushed right up against the glass of the tank.

The most adorable of adorable starfish is inside, laying on top of one of the rocks. Yes, a real live starfish. Fuuko couldn't believe it either. A real live starfish! It needs repeating, okay, it's a real a starfish. REAL. Many a trance came and went when she first unwrapped the jar containing the little guy.

Having kept the journal on for a minute or so in silence whilst she shows off her new pet, Fuuko speaks up.]

Fuuko cannot thank whoever gave Fuuko such a gift this Christmas time enough! Had Fuuko been able to find a tank and supplies sooner then rest assured, Fuuko would have thanked whoever-you-are long ago!

[Turning the journal towards her face which has a giant smile plastered all over it, because hey, guess what guys, it's a real starfish. And it's her pet! Aaah!]

Fuuko has even decided to keep the jar that-- Oh, Fuuko still needs to think of a name... But Fuuko is keeping the jar he came in as a memento of this wonderful present even in his nameless state! [Giving the journal a wave she starts closing the journal-- But wait, ooone more thing.] Fuuko almost forgot to mention the Starfish Festival seeing as all Fuuko can think of right now is this cute little guy. It'll probably be in April sometime, though there's no definite date yet. Just letting you all know!

Whoever went out of their way to find Fuuko a starfish like this can only be a good person, there's no doubt about it!

That's true, only a good friend of Fuuko's would be able to find such a cute little guy and then so selflessly give him away like this!

[That's possible. BUT this starfish is just so perfect it can only be the closest of close friends and not a weird guy who found it.]

Nagisa-san would be Fuuko's first guess, but seeing as she's been sick it couldn't have been her. It might have been Kotomi-san!

Kotomi? [Does he know her?] Maybe, maybe not. You could ask her and clarify?

But you see, this was done as an act of kindness for the secret santa. Would asking her ruin how special the gift is? Fuuko thought it was meant to be done anonymously!

In that case...then you'll just stick to wondering whether it's really her or someone else that gifted to you.

Yes, that will have to be the case.

[...After a moment or so, Fuuko lets out a whine and a bunch of other 'cute' noises.]

But even so, Fuuko really wants to find out who found Fuuko a starfish! Even if it was meant to be a secret who got who a gift, would Fuuko be looked down for finding out and thanking who had to get a Fuuko a gift?!

[This is a lot more frustrating than it should be...]

This is too much for Fuuko to take! It's like some masked person knew what Fuuko would adore and left it without any sign of who he or she was or what his or her favourite meal at Christmas is!

No, no, you wouldn't be looked down on for being curious! [What jerk would do that?] It's normal to wonder who gifted you, after all!

...You want to repay them or something?

Fuuko had just wanted to properly thank the person for the trouble they went through, though repaying them might be a good idea.

[But if she wanted to repay whoever it was, what would she do?]

It would be hard finding something to repay them with. They had Fuuko's name to go off when they found a gift, whereas Fuuko has nothing at all.

There's always general gifts, like baking cookies. But as for giving it to them...

[He looks thoughtful.]

...Announce it over the journal to tell them you have a gift?

Hmm. Fuuko could always bake another cake for just such a gift. And then Fuuko can go wait somewhere and announce that over the journals and see who shows up.

...But what if some weird guy who only shows up for the cake appears?

Tell them it's for your Secret Santa.

...But if you baked enough cake, you can share them for any people that comes, since you're giving away free cake.

But Fuuko was not intending to give away cake to any old weird guy who walks by, only Fuuko's Secret Santa... But saying it like that makes it sound a little mean!

This is going to be more work than Fuuko had thought.

Maybe cake for your Secret Santa and someone else for everyone else? But that means finding a way to keep sneaky people from snatching the cake.

...Hm, this is going to take a bit. [:|a]

Maybe Fuuko could use someone as a scapegoat so everyone will walk up to them looking for cake whilst Fuuko assesses who out of the people that show up is most likely to have given Fuuko this starfish.

You could do that! But who would you ask?

Someone dimwitted and slow enough not to realise that they are being used as a scapegoat, but not someone Fuuko knows well enough to feel bad about making them a scapegoat in the first place! ...If only Fuuko knew some more weird guys for just this occasion!

Too bad you don't know anyone like that, Fuuko.

It's a shame, but a plan like that shouldn't be something Fuuko should consider.

[Weird guys have feelings too after all. Maybe.]

Could it be possible that in this time you yourself have though up some sort of plan Fuuko could use to avoid any weird guys staling Fuuko's cake, Kouki-san?

Eh, me? No, not quite at the moment. But if I do, I'll let you know!

...Well alright. As soon as you think of something you should contact Fuuko immediately. This is a very serious situation after all.

Got it. Whenever I think of something, I'd call you over the journals.

For something like this, we gotta give it our all.
