[When Fuuko wakes up today, it's hard for her to ignore just how quiet the house is. Normally she would see Kotomi around when she got up so the two of them could eat breakfast together. When the minutes continue to pass and her housemate had still yet to make an appearance, Fuuko knocks on Kotomi's door and peers inside. She calls out Kotomi's name into the room, only to soon realise what was going on.

Fuuko spends the morning just walking around her large and now empty house. She has her journal in her arms and held close to her chest, with the intention of using it to tell everyone about Kotomi at some point. But for now Fuuko wants a little time to herself, so she can think about what to do next and what to do about the house.]

[Around midday, Fuuko settles down in the living room on one of the couches and opens her journal.]

Kotomi Ichinose, Kotomi-chan, has gone home. Fuuko is sure she had plenty of friends who weren't bullies or weird guys, so Fuuko thought it would be better if everyone found out now rather than finding out at some other awful time.

[Though she starts her message looking at the journal, Fuuko soon starts looking away as though she's concentrating on something else.]

Fuuko thinks she didn't leave anything behind, in fact, Fuuko is positive of this.

[She was expecting to be more upset than this. For a moment she wonders if she's just getting used to making these sorts of messages, after having announced Nagisa, Tomoya and a few of her other friends and family went home in the past. With a sigh to herself, Fuuko turns her attention back to the journal .]

Kotomi-chan is a really kind, really intelligent person. She taught Fuuko a lot about the starfish you know. Fuuko is sure that Kotomi-chan will be very happy back home with Nagisa-san and Okazaki-san.

[After making her message over the journals, Fuuko heads out to the tea shop to get some work done. As tempting as it was for her to just stay home and keep inside for the rest of the day, the tea shop seemed like a good way to get her mind off of things for a little while. Though she's work as well as she normally does it's easy to notice how distracted Fuuko seems. Whenever she's not carrying out cups or cleaning up she can be seen staring off into space and otherwise keeping to herself unless someone needs her.]

Yeah... that guy. [A frown] I guess someone oughta do that.

[Maybe he should]. But that aside...] 'M gonna miss her too, though.

Fuuko is sure that all of the friends Kotomi-chan made will miss her, she's a very memorable person. Fuuko hopes that even a year from now people will be able to remember and quote all sorts of memorable things Kotomi-chan said.

[Like all of the interesting facts she told her about the starfish.]

I dunno if I could begin to quote some've the stuff she said like it was just nothing. [Seriously, weird stuff]

Some of the things Kotomi-chan said still stick with Fuuko even now. For example, the starfish are a part of a family of marine animals known as echinoderms. Sea urchins and sea cucumbers also belong in the same family. Are you sure you don't remember anything useful or interesting like that?

[The starfish are, after all, incredibly interesting.]

[How does she remember that..] Uh... maybe? It's not going to me right now, but maybe it will?

[She soaks up starfish facts like a sponge. A sea sponge, if you will.] Fuuko hopes so, it would be very horrible if you became good friends with Kotomi-chan and you took nothing away from the experience!

N...nah, I got stuff out of it either way, but it's not like I remember how to say that hydroplascal or whatever it was by heart.

Fuuko would not expect you to recite everything Kotomi-chan told you as if you heard it yesterday in school and you were preparing for a test the following week.

[Some of the things Kotomi said were pretty confusing. Or far too complicated to remember at times. All those sciencey words.]

As long as you got something out of it then Fuuko will be content.

[She's got a point. And she does remember some things - really, if anything it's unforgettable some of the stuff she said. Not always in a good way but... people are like it. So he nods]

S'good way to look at it. ...'M glad you've looking at so well.

Don't get the wrong idea, Fuuko is very sad that Kotomi-chan has gone home. [...] But Fuuko has seen a lot of people go home now, and not just people from Hikarizaka. It's only natural that Fuuko would start looking at people going home in a better way than how Fuuko used to look at it.

Mmm... not to mention, people are better off not being here, anyway. [Almost always.]

[Almost always, but not in Fuuko's case.]

Even if lots of horrible things happen now and then, Fuuko thinks that there are some people who are happy to be here. Fuuko is not strange for saying something like that as Fuuko is only speaking the truth.

[He can't agree there. No one's better off in this place... probably. But you know what, she just had a friend vanish, so he just makes some noise of agreement]

Yeah, probably. [A beat] I'll look into Ikki.

[She considers debating that 'probably', but she really can't speak for anyone other than herself. Plus she can't help but feel that the number of people that want to stay here are in the minority anyway, so she moves on.]

Okay, if you're sure. Thank you very much... [Uh. What's he called again.] Fuuko was going to thank you properly, but when Fuuko hears your voice Fuuko really can't remember your name.

Oh, I'm Rin. Rin Okumura.

That almost seems familiar to Fuuko, so it must be right. [...] Didn't you come to see Fuuko's starfish a long time ago? Fuuko remembers someone with a name like that coming to Fuuko's old apartment to pet Manami-san.

Oh.... Oh! Oh, I think I do remember something like that, actually! Yeah, that might've been me.

Unless there's someone with the exact same name as you, or at least a name that sounds sort of the same, Fuuko really thinks it was you. Even if it wasn't really you though, Fuuko would like to tell you that Manami-san is doing fine. He's really very happy!

Glad to hear it! [I guess...] That was pretty cool to see a starfish, I think.

[Good, he should be glad. So should anyone else who ever gets updates on how her starfish is doing.]

You must have thought that, the starfish are very cool like that and also very cute! In fact, Fuuko thinks that Manami-san has managed to get even cuter since the last time you saw him. Fuuko didn't think it was possible, but his cuteness might have doubled.

Cool...? And I uh, I'll talk to you later.
